Last night I found a new friend. A tiny scrap of starlit fur, she was staring down cats much larger than herself. Naturally the felines left as soon as Sirius came to play.

I brought her home, bathed the wee thing and have named her. Asteria, after my mother. A suitable name, I think. According to the Internet (currently having a fit over some pop singer), she is a white shepherd. Sirius and little Asteria are currently engaged in a battle of wills, so I must go minimize damages.

She sounds adorable, Hecate--and strong-willed! I'm really glad you rescued her.

I don't get the craze myself. What kind of dog is Sirius?

Oh he is a Tibetan Mastiff, I believe.

Tibetan Mastiff? Is he fully grown? Does he likes apartment life?

Terribly sorry to butt in this way but I've been considering getting a dog and small ones aren't my type.

Oh that is quite alright, Electra.

Mmm. Sirius isn't really a good apartment dog. He is rather large and requires a lot of exercise.

A good apartment dog would be something medium sized and doesn't require a lot of exercise.

Thank you.

So you don't keep Sirius here at the complex? And you're right, of course. If I must, I might bend and get something more medium-sized but I'm curious about your Sirius and how you manage him.

I keep him here at the complex, but he doesn't enjoy being cooped up, so I allow him to roam the halls on my floor. He only stays out of loyalty to me.

I can not guarantee that another of his breed would be the same to you.

That's rather sweet of him. But you do speak such truth. I'll have to continue searching. Thank you very much.
