001///Wanderings on a Full Moon

The moon is full again, and my companions have fled Selene's face. The mortals have nearly conquered the night, attempting to bring Helios back from his slumber with their love for the artificial torches and lamps.

Sirius lopes alongside me, as is his wont. It feels right to have something of home with me, even though we are fallen far from grace.

Work today was mundane. So many 'Wiccans' as they call themselves invoke my name for their spells, and yet they do not detect that the shopkeeper was their Goddess.

I doubt any of our followers would be able to detect who we are now, Hecate. After all, how many have ever even seen a true depiction?

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Judging by some of the statues, not very many. Some of those are results of a fevered imagination exacerbated by the usual suspects: drink or drugs.

[identity profile] ateseeds.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, seems as good an excuse as any for them, doesn't it?

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[dry laugh] That it does. How does Hades fare?

[identity profile] ateseeds.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
As well as can be expected is what I'm told.

Oh, they have you in this thing a co-worker was reading for her night class. It's called Hamlet and it's quite hilarious. This man Shakespeare actually alludes to us quite often.

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
He didn't get it quite right, Iris. But I'm sure he did try.

I should read the play again, I'm afraid.

I still say that it is nice that these mortals seem to remember you. Several have forgotten my pantheon and myself. It's terribly sad.

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it better to be remembered badly or forgotten, I wonder?

[identity profile] charmingspeech.livejournal.com 2009-01-15 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
You make an excellent point, my dear. Actual immortality means so little when one is forgotten or remembered in ways that one does not desire to be remembered.

[identity profile] cursethespring.livejournal.com 2009-01-15 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Many have forgotten me, as well.

I miss your dog, Cate. I miss him trying to eat my face.

Okay, I'm lying. Is work really that mundane? Do I need to pay someone a visit?

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Sirius is a teddy bear! He won't hurt a fly.

Speaking of your visit, I just received a shipment of some items you might find intriguing.

[identity profile] liberatedfrenzy.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Unless I'm said fly. I'm serious, Cate, he hates me.

...Have I told you already how much I love you?

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Come down to my shop sometime, whenever you are free. It was rather difficult to obtain my favorite items. The mortals have gotten so much stricter about such simple things as plants now.

[identity profile] liberatedfrenzy.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
Cate...have I ever told you that you're one of my favorite relatives...ever?

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
And have I ever told you that you are such oh what is that word they use again? Oh yes a brown-noser?

[identity profile] liberatedfrenzy.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'm well aware I'm a wonderful suck-up.

[identity profile] donttrustbirds.livejournal.com 2009-01-15 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I've learned not to expect much where the mortals are concerned, dear.

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
They did leave such nice offerings once, but perhaps, they've forgotten us and as such it made us susceptible to our fall from grace.

[identity profile] donttrustbirds.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Mortal memories are so short. And their period of gratitude is even shorter. They have gone from putting their lives in our hands to this.

Perhaps we will have to make them remember again.

[identity profile] ghostbitchwitch.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps you are right, my lady. They've butchered my worship and turned it into something evil and obscene. I do not appreciate such activities.
